About Me

Hello! I’m a development geographer and I explore human-environment relations, with a particular interest in everyday humanitarianism, lived experiences of disasters and the media representation of disasters.

I regularly work with artists to produce respectful, nuanced and creative representations of the people I speak to in my research.

I’m a Vice Chancellor’s Fellow at RMIT University. Prior to this I was lecturer at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute, University of Manchester. I’m an editor for theĀ Journal of Humanitarian Affairs
